The working-class culture by the southern harbors of Taiwan gave birth to the unique chopped dishes street snacks. Kaohsiung’s Qian Jin Miao Danzai Noodles, has become a gathering place for foodies. Fresh ingredients paired with a few glasses of wine make this a relaxing spot for workers and nearby residents during the evening. In traditional markets around Tainan, chopped dishes took on slightly different forms, known as “Ian-chhiân se̍ k-bah.” A Cai Snack Bar, in Tainan has become a local favorite passed down through generations. Even as times change, many loyal customers travel long distances to revisit the familiar taste that they grew up with.
