Kenting is the southernmost part of Taiwan, with an atmosphere akin to Thailand’s Pattaya or Indonesia’s Bali. Kenting’s seashore is a favorite of tourists, who come to dine, drink, and shop. However, unbeknownst to them, not even 2 kilometers from Kenting downtown lies a beach that serves as a gateway to the universe. Kenting’s beaches face the south, where the ocean is free of light and air pollution. The best season for stargazing in Kenting falls between April and the beginning of June; the northeast monsoon is dying down, and the humid southwest monsoon has yet to begin. At night, temperatures remain comfortable at 20 to 24 degrees. In early June, people can gaze at the Southern Cross after dusk on this southern beach. The sea breeze is slightly salty, and lapping waves make rustling sounds. According to Taiwan’s latitude, the Southern Cross appears in the south above sea level for roughly three hours! This constellation is very easily found and recognized, and only requires: one,the correct season and time. In April, between 10 p.m. and midnight In May, between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. In June, between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. And two, the right timing, no rainy days and full moons. When Christians see the Southern Cross, they feel its Holy Spirit, where the 4 stars are in the sky, they see a cross in the Heavens, and blessings to the whole world. It feels so tranquil to be stargazing at the beach and under the starry sky. Only when we are silent Can we converse with nature. When the heart is still, it is cleansed, and we enter the world of meditation In the salty sea breeze, amidst the sound of waves lapping on the beach, raise a glass of wine in honor of the Southern Cross.
