Flying Over the Hakka Village: Mountain People
It is always daunting to find tickets for the Old Mountain Line steam locomotive when it runs in Sanyi, Miaoli. It is little known that many of Taiwan's Railway Administration employees are in fact Hakka. Entire Hakka families work on the rail from couples, parents, to siblings and grandchildren. Hard-working Hakka people have significantly contributed to the development of Taiwan's railways and modern Taiwan as a whole.
