Sung Chih-fan never thought he’d become a shoemaker, but somehow went down the rabbit hole after taking lessons from a charismatic shoemaker. What ensued was a wild ride: his second teacher went into hiding after owing debts to loan sharks. Sung decided to fill all the orders his teacher had left behind. He had to teach himself to make shoes and boost brand recognition on social media platforms. Shoemaking has made him confident and given him purpose.
