Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a US-backed peace plan for Gaza.

Israel rejects the 15-point plan for Gaza. The IDF will not carry out any withdrawal until the dismantling of Hamas and its weapons. And when I say dismantling Hamas and its weapons, that means heavy weaponry, less heavy weaponry and smaller arms. We’re now speaking with the Americans about this subject. They have ideas, some of them are acceptable to us and some are unacceptable to us.
This was Israel’s first official rejection of the plan, which was proposed in July by US President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace. Under the plan, Hamas would have to give up its weapons, while Israel would fully withdraw its troops from Gaza. Israel has continued launching strikes on Gaza since agreeing to a ceasefire last October. The US has yet to respond to Netanyahu’s statement.
