50,000 Migrants Cross Into Spain’s Ceuta From Morocco
More than 50,000 migrants crossed from Morocco into Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta in one of Europe’s biggest recent migrant surges. At least 67 people died during the rush, with some drowning and others crushed while trying to reach Spanish territory. Spanish authorities have returned more than 48,000 people to Morocco and begun installing a 500-meter floating sea barrier as residents call for tighter border security.
