Toyota To Export Taiwan-Made Minivans to Japan This October
Japanese auto giant Toyota will begin exporting Taiwan-made minivans back to its home market starting this October. The rare move comes as labor shortages and rising production costs strain domestic manufacturing in Japan. Toyota plans to have Taiwan’s assembly lines produce 100,000 vehicles annually for the Japanese market while maintaining its commitment to domestic production of three million units.
