Snap Election Puts Thailand’s Anutin on Track To Stay in Office
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnavirakul appears set to remain in office after his conservative-leaning Bhumjaithai Party took a strong lead in a snap election. The party is projected to win about 193 seats in parliament, nearly double its total from the 2023 vote. Analysts link Anutin’s gains to a rise in nationalism linked to border tensions with Cambodia.
