A magnitude 7.7 earthquake has struck Panama, injuring at least 27 people and damaging buildings and roads. No deaths have been reported so far, while more than 100 aftershocks have been recorded since the quake.

No deaths have been reported so far. More than 100 aftershocks have been recorded. Panama’s President Jose Raul Mulino has described the situation as a "major disaster." The US says it is mobilizing resources and personnel to assist at Panama’s request.
