Top US officials have issued strong warnings after a Chinese national was accused of spying on relatives of Taiwan President Lai Ching-te in Seattle. Prosecutors allege Zhang Wanying, a California resident, filmed the president's son and passed the footage to Chinese officials. FBI Director Kash Patel said foreign adversaries should understand that “America is not your playground,” while Senator Pete Ricketts accused China of engaging in “deception on American soil.” The US State Department says it is committed to protecting people in the United States from foreign governments' efforts to intimidate or silence them.
