As devastation from the deadly Turkey-Syria earthquake continues to unravel, Taiwan legislator Lin Ching-yi, speaks exclusively to Taiwan Talks about the country’s two rescue and medical relief missions deployed into southern Turkey’s quake zone. She talks about the similarities both Taiwan and Turkey draw from being earthquake prone and how Taiwan’s disaster relief efforts has rallied the country, from the government to ordinary citizens. She also notes that Taiwan’s disaster relief efforts in Turkey go many years back and that the country helps its partners around the world regardless of politics and returning favors.
