Chou Chun-mi, the Democratic Progressive Party legislator made history as Taiwan’s southernmost county, Pingtung’s very first female magistrate-elect. She was also the only successfully elected female mayor/magistrate of her party, the DPP, in the Taiwan 2022 local elections.
