US Imposes New Tariffs on Taiwan and Over 80 Others
New US tariffs on trade partners including Taiwan have taken effect. The US Trade Representative announced levies of 10-12.5% on more than 80 countries, citing forced labor concerns. Taiwan received the lower 10 percent rate in recognition of its trade commitments with Washington, following the expiration of the administration's previous global tariffs.
