A noticeable aspect of this year's Han Kuang military exercises in Taiwan is the presence of US observers. Dmitri Alperovitch, chair of the Silverado Policy Accelerator, a think tank based in Washington, DC, is among the American professionals visiting Taiwan for the live-fire drills.
