Taiwan Politicians, NASA Astronaut Celebrate Mets Taiwan Day
The 22nd annual New York Mets Taiwan Day brought vibrant cultural pride to Citi Field, cementing its status as Major League Baseball's oldest and largest heritage event. Taiwan-born NASA astronaut Kjell Lindgren and Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League President Tsai Chi-chang threw out the ceremonial first pitches, emphasizing growing bilateral collaboration from economic trade to deep-space exploration. The celebration also welcomed a traveling DPP legislative delegation following their meetings with US House Speaker Mike Johnson and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Kjell Lindgren and Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League president Tsai Chi-chang threw the ceremonial first pitches of the night. It’s the oldest and largest Taiwan-themed event in major league baseball.
