The foreign ministry is criticizing Oman for backing Beijing’s claim over Taiwan.

China and Oman issued a joint statement after their leaders met in Beijing on Monday. Oman said it upholds Beijing's so-called "one China" principle, which claims Taiwan as part of China. The statement also reaffirmed Oman’s "unwavering support" for Beijing's efforts to achieve “national reunification." Taiwan's foreign ministry says the comments undermine the country’s sovereignty. It called on the international community to resist China's attempts at political manipulation.
