Unprecedented Coral Bleaching in Taiwan
Nearly one-third of the coral surrounding Taiwan is dying. Global warming and an unprecedented lack of typhoon activity over the past summer have raised sea temperatures to abnormal levels. This has led to an increase in coral bleaching. Fifty percent of Taiwan's coral is affected by warmer sea temperatures. Thirty percent will not survive.
