Lai Hosts St. Lucia PM Amid Expanding Cooperation and Diplomatic Support

Taiwan President Lai Ching-te welcomed St. Lucian Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre to Taipei, highlighting growing cooperation ahead of the 20th anniversary of official diplomatic relations. The visit comes after Taiwan and St. Lucia launched military exchanges earlier this year, including a goodwill visit by a Taiwan navy squadron in April. Pierre reaffirmed his country’s support for democratic values and recently backed Taiwan’s participation at the UN General Assembly. St. Lucia is one of 12 countries that maintain official diplomatic ties with Taipei, making the Caribbean partnership an important part of Taiwan’s international outreach
