Ahead of the start of the Pacific Islands Forum in Palau, Taiwan’s delegation showcased its regional contributions by donating electric buses in support of its Pacific ally. The initiative is part of a broader joint push toward a clean energy ecosystem in Palau. It includes a newly installed rooftop solar array on Palau's main downtown government building to power both the facility and the new fleet of EV buses. Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung emphasized that the project marks a significant step toward Palau’s target of achieving 100% renewable energy by 2032, while Palauan President Surangel Whipps Jr. highlighted the critical role of international partnerships in tackling climate and energy challenges across the Pacific.
