Guatemalan Congressional Speaker Visits Taiwan
Guatemala, one of Taiwan's 12 diplomatic allies, has sent its congressional speaker to Taiwan to reaffirm bilateral ties. During his 5-day visit, Luis Alberto Contreras Colíndres will meet with Taiwan President Lai Ching-te, Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung and other members of the government.

Guatemala’s Congressional Speaker Luis Alberto Contreras Colíndres has arrived in Taiwan for a 5-day visit.
Guatemala is one of Taiwan’s remaining 12 diplomatic allies. Contreras said his country cherishes its ties with Taiwan, and will work to safeguard relations. While here, Contreras will meet with President Lai Ching-te and foreign minister Lin Chia-lung, as well as Taiwan’s legislature and judicial authorities.
