Taiwan Deputy Foreign Minister Visits Paraguay
Taiwan Deputy Foreign Minister Chen Ming-chi is on a visit to Paraguay, Taipei's last diplomatic ally in South America. He met with Paraguay's foreign minister and inspected progress on several joint projects.

A top Taiwan foreign policy official is visiting Paraguay, Taipei's last diplomatic ally in South America.
Deputy Foreign Minister Chen Ming-chi met with Paraguay’s foreign minister, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano. He also went to see how several cooperation projects are progressing, including a ride on Taiwan-made electric buses given to Paraguay. On the trip, Chen also aims to push for more collaboration on things like AI and smart transportation.
The visit comes as Paraguay is reportedly facing increased pressure from China to cut ties with Taiwan.
