Several Japanese lawmakers have formed a study group on cross-strait peace and stability. They will hold hearings with experts, deepen discussions on Japan's role in the region and form policy recommendations.

Taiwan has welcomed the formation of a new Japanese legislative study group on cross-strait peace and stability.

Japanese lawmakers from both ruling and opposition parties have continued to demonstrate concern for the cross-strait situation through concrete action. [Foreign minister] Lin Chia-lung welcomes this. In fact, peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait is key to the security and prosperity of the entire Indo-Pacific region.
The bipartisan group is made up of Japanese lawmakers who reportedly share a sense of urgency about maintaining stability and peace in the Taiwan Strait. The group will hold hearings with experts, deepen discussions on Japan’s role in the region, and form policy recommendations.
