Taiwan is touting ties with the Philippines on the 128th anniversary of its independence.
Vice Foreign Minister Baushuan Ger attended an anniversary event hosted by the Manila Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei. He praised the Philippines as Taiwan’s largest source of visitors from Southeast Asia, and its 10th-largest trading partner. He also thanked the 170,000 Filipino workers in Taiwan. He said Taipei will continue to expand its partnership with Manila, citing shared strategic interests in the region.
