Taiwan's Food Delights – The 5th Month: Grain in Ear as Summer Arrives Ep31
"Grain in Ear" refers to the time of the year when grains start ripening. It is also the best time to plant autumn crop seeds. Many believe that summer only comes when the seeds are well in the ground. A must for this season is watermelon! Summer Solstice was the first solar term to be created in the 24 solar term calendar. It is also the best time of the year to catch flying fish, roe, and squid. The highlight of this season is the Dragon Boat Festival.
