Taiwan is a haven for cycling and is home to one of the toughest hill climbs in the world. This climb is a part of the infamous Taiwan KOM Challenge. Meet our team as they prepare for this massive challenge by taking a training ride along the iconic route. It’s time for another episode of Pedal On! Get to know a new team of cyclists as they prepare to take on the epic 105 km Taiwan KOM Challenge, widely known in cycling circles as one of the toughest races in the world. The race route runs from Qixingtan in Hualien all the way up to Wuling, the highest point on Taiwan’s roads at 3,275 m. We follow the team as they do a training ride preparing for their race. The day starts bright and early at Qixingtan which is the race-start. Our six friends begin their training ride on the race route cycling at a relaxed pace. Reaching Taroko Gorge, the team continues with some scenic riding with rolling hills. Along the way, we chat with the different cyclists to learn more about their race preparations, including diet, workout plans, cycling experiences and much more. Moving along, when our cyclists reach Tianxiang they have a pit stop where they prepare for the next leg of the journey which involves some serious hill climbs.
