US President Donald Trump says a deal to keep TikTok operating in the United States was “approved” by Chinese President Xi Jinping following a phone call. Details of the agreement have not been released, though reporting indicates a US-led investor group, reportedly including Oracle and other firms, would control roughly 80% of a new US business. Trump said the call also covered the wars in Ukraine and Gaza and fentanyl, and the two leaders agreed to meet on the sidelines of APEC at the end of October.
