Semicon 2025 Opens With Record Attendance, Tariffs Still Loom Large

The Semicon 2025 trade show has opened in Taipei, drawing more than 1,200 companies from 56 countries and organizers expect roughly 100,000 visitors. Pre-event activity helped push Taiwan’s stock index to a new high and panels this week will cover topics from sustainability to women in tech. But as comments at the opening ceremony showed, trade tensions still hang in the air.
