Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu Meets US House Speaker Mike Johnson
Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu met with US House Speaker Mike Johnson on Friday, the last day of his weeklong trip to the US. There, Han met with US defense officials and think tanks, urging them to support Taiwan's participation in international organizations and sharing Taiwan's commitment to its self-defense. The cross-party delegation of lawmakers returned to Taiwan on the inaugural flight from Washington, DC to Taoyuan International Airport.

Han urged Johnson’s support for an act pending in Congress to exempt Taiwanese companies from double taxation. He then spoke with State Department officials on improving access for Taiwanese investment in the US. He also brought up the need for more security cooperation — including drone development. The group left after a ceremony for the inaugural flight from Washington, DC to Taiwan, operated by E-V-A air.
