Taiwan's Tang Prize 2026 Announces Full List of Winners

The biennial Tang Prize, often dubbed "Asia's Nobel Prize," has named its full slate of 2026 laureates. Yale law professor Bruce Ackerman won the Rule of Law prize for reshaping democratic governance theory.

The biennial Tang Prize, often called "Asia's Nobel Prize," is wrapping up, after announcing its final winning laureate for 2026 in the Rule of Law category.

 

The award went to Yale constitutional law professor Bruce Ackerman for groundbreaking work reshaping democratic governance.

 

Earlier this week, three scientists shared the Biopharmaceutical Science prize for turning patients' own immune cells into cancer-fighting drugs.

 

And an atmospheric chemist won the Sustainable Development prize for her research on the Antarctic ozone hole — work that shaped global climate policy.
