China and US Release Differing Readouts of Trump-Xi Summit
Both China and the US have released readouts of the initial two-hour meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday. The White House's readout made no mention of the issue of Taiwan, which featured heavily in the account of the meeting published by Chinese state media.
