Retailers Rush To Recall Tainted Cooking Oil

Taiwan's food and drug authorities are recalling batches of cooking oil that have tested positive for excess levels of a Group 1 carcinogen.

Health authorities and retailers across Taiwan are rushing to get certain batches of cooking oil off the shelves.

 

The products have tested for excess levels of Benzopyrene, a Group 1 carcinogen. Taiwan’s food and drug authorities say that they have identified 257 affected retailers and have notified them. The government has ordered all affected products to be taken down by Monday.
