Taiwan’s health insurance administration has released data on longer-term cancer survival rates, part of its work to combat the country’s leading cause of death.

Throughout a patient’s cancer journey from diagnosis to treatment to monitoring their data we can identify high-risk patients and bring them back to the hospital.
The data shows that patients with some cancers like breast, prostate and cervical, have a strong chance of survival five years after treatment. But pancreatic cancer, often discovered later, remains a major killer. The health body is promoting early detection and screening through its health app.

Cancer Post-Treatment Survival Data

Taiwan’s health insurance administration has put together data on longer-term cancer survival rates, part of its work to combat the country’s leading cause of death.

By caring for patients through their cancer journey we can go from diagnosis to treatment to tracking patients’ data and bringing high-risk patients back to the hospital.
The data shows that patients with some cancers, like breast, prostate and cervical cancer have a strong chance of surviving for five years after treatment. But it also shows that pancreatic cancer, often discovered late, remains a major killer, with fewer than 10% of diagnosed patients surviving five years after treatment. The data also shows a regional gap in outcomes between patients in urban areas with strong medical infrastructure and rural patients.
