Taiwan Increases IVF Subsidies To Tackle Low Birth Rate

Couples undergoing IVF in Taiwan can receive an extra US$1,600 in government support for their second and third rounds from September 1. The subsidy will rise to around US$4,700 per cycle for those under 40 and US$4,100 for those aged 40-44, as the government aims to ease the financial burden of IVF amid Taiwan’s low birth rate.

The government is increasing subsidies for IVF treatment to ease the financial burden on couples hoping to conceive.

The funding will provide an extra US$1,600 dollars toward 2nd and 3rd rounds of IVF. This means the total subsidy per cycle will increase to around US$4,700 for those under 40, and to just over US$4,000 dollars for those aged 40–44. Taiwan has one of the lowest birth rates in the world. Applications for the new subsidy will open on September 1.
