Taiwan WHA Delegation Returns After Push for Global Support
Taiwan’s delegation to the World Health Assembly has returned to Taipei after advocating for the country’s inclusion in the annual global health meeting in Geneva. Health Minister Shih Chung-liang said Taiwanese medical, nursing and public health students also joined the effort, showing strong public support for participation in the WHA. Taiwan has been excluded from the assembly for the past decade due to pressure from China. Despite that, Taiwan maintained a visible presence through a biotech exhibition and diplomatic outreach. Eleven diplomatic allies and 26 countries, along with the European Union, voiced support for Taiwan’s participation.
