African Swine Fever in Taiwan Shows High DNA Match to China, Vietnam Strains
Taiwan's agriculture ministry said that gene sequencing confirmed the African swine fever strain found at a Taichung pig farm is closely related to viruses from China and Vietnam, showing high similarity. However, without a matching reference sequence in existing databases, the ministry cannot pinpoint the exact origin. It says it will submit the data to the World Organization for Animal Health to fulfill its international obligations.
