Taiwan Ends Visa Programs for Cambodian Nationals

Taiwan will end two visa facilitation programs for Cambodian nationals starting August 1, while keeping similar arrangements in place for several other countries in South and Southeast Asia.

Starting August first, Cambodian nationals will no longer be eligible for two visa programs in Taiwan.

 

Eased entry for nationals from Thailand, the Philippines and several other South and Southeast Asian countries will remain. The foreign ministry says Cambodia's government has failed to reciprocate Taiwan's goodwill, and has implicitly supported China in undermining Taiwan's sovereignty. The ministry also cited major fraud cases as another concern.
