Ocean: Penghu Rock Fishing
In Citou Village on Taiwan’s Penghu Island, Taiwan, Grandmother Ying uses a special technique, a centuries-old traditional fishing method. When the tide goes down, she gathers rocks. She piles these rocks underwater, creating cave-like shelters that quickly attract fish. With methods like this, we will not overfish and only take what we need for sustenance. We create a sustainable food cycle between land and sea. This is proof that humans can live in balance with the ocean.
