Solomon Islands Unrest Enters 3rd Day
A third day of violent protests is continuing in the capital of the Solomon Islands. Police have fired warning shots and tear gas to disperse rioters attacking the home of Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare. Reasons for the protests are varied but partly center on the government’s 2019 decision to sever diplomatic ties with Taiwan. James Chater has this report.
