Environmental Conservation & What NGOs Really Want - The Ripple Effect Podcast Ep4
The talk about reducing the use of one-time plastics may seem old, but living sustainably and conserving as much as we can has become more mainstream than ever. This is good news for people like Guillame Brissaud, Fabio Grangeon, and Chialing Fong, all of whom are part of NGOs that focus on raising awareness of our harm to the environment, biodiversity, and good conservation practices (they are from ‘Wild Ocean Taiwan’ and ‘TurtleSpot Taiwan’ respectively). Yet, with so many NGOs (more than 100 in Taiwan alone) why is there still a struggle to implement good practices in the daily lives of people? In today’s episode Dr. Aziz Mulla sits down with these three guests. They share personal reasons for why conservation matters to them, as well as more public and global issues: What can governments do to actually help NGOs? What conservation policies do they hope to see implemented? And what differences can we really make as individuals and a collective whole?
