Known by some as Taiwan's "tofu town," Daxi in Taoyuan County is the home of legends. When Brandon's AI leads him astray in a search for legendary date ideas, he takes matters into his own hands and heads for Daxi Old Street to meet the people carrying on the town's legendary history. Artisans on Daxi Old Street practice a variety of traditional arts, including carving wooden spinning tops and building extravagant, baroque-esque architecture. The town's sculpture park is even packed to the brim with statues of one controversial historical figure: Chiang Kai-shek. But today, Daxi's legends are the down-to-earth people who keep the town's economy running from generation to generation. Among those Brandon meets are a peanut candy artisan, a family of tofu makers, a female carpenter and altar maker, and the owner of an egg cake stand who has been in business for 37 years. Daxi Old Street is brimming with fascinating history and legends. If you stay long enough in the company of these hardworking artisans, you just might discover your own legendary potential.
