Why is Taiwan the best place to learn Mandarin? Dr. Priya didn’t know any Mandarin when she came to Taiwan as a teenager. She now works as a professional interpreter. Lavudya is a professional dancer who is learning Mandarin to strengthen trade, cultural exchange, and communication between India and Taiwan. Many students study in the Mandarin Training Center (MTC) at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU). The Center hosts everyone from beginners to intermediate students looking to advance in their career or to connect with Taiwan. Learning Traditional Chinese characters preserves the historical essence of the language, and the local curriculum emphasizes a safe learning environment that seeks to empower all students. Those who are interested can also apply for funding opportunities through the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship and the Taiwan Scholarship programs.
