A growing number of Indians are coming to Taiwan! Dr. Priya is visiting a local gathering where fellow Indians sing kirtan (Indian praise) and have a good time together. It’s similar to the Raksha Bandhan (Brothers and Sisters Day) in India where everyone ties the Rakhi (holy thread). Taiwan and India have signed an MOU on Migrant Worker Cooperation that will encourage more Indians to come to Taiwan in the future. It’s important that the Indian community stays connected to support newcomers as both countries nurture their relationship.
