Wang Wen-Shan - Their Red, Youthful Days
The case of Wang Wen-Shan is an unusual one among victims of White Terror in Taiwan. At the age of 12, he joined a civilian armed force and fought against the tyranny of KMT government. At the age of 16, he was captured and later sentenced to 10 years of prison. During his time of incarceration, he met intellectuals in the prison, who taught Wang to write and think critically. After being released, Wang founded a printing factory and supported left-wing movements through presswork.
