The Wu family's pomelo tree grove was planted by Wu Shui-tung's grandfather nearly 60 years ago. Wu Shui-tung, who is in his early twenties, found it hard to adapt to the farming life at first, but quickly got used to it. Using his grandfather’s techniques, the pomelos he grew won the top prize at county-wide pomelo competitions two years in a row. Wu’s grandfather, an octogenarian, is generous in sharing tips on growing pomelos with fellow farmers.
