One person's trash is another's treasure. While rust stains may be unwelcomed by most, Taiwanese artisan Chen Ying-ting sees them as the evidence of the passage of time. By carefully monitoring the oxidation process, Chen is able to imprint desired graphics onto fabric with rust stains. By combining rust dye and plant dye, Chen opens up possibilities for new artistic expressions.
