Readouts From Andy Burnham’s First Call with Xi Jinping Differ on Taiwan

London and Beijing issued separate readouts after Tuesday's phone call between the new British Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Chinese readout quotes Burnham as saying that “the UK’s position on the Taiwan question is unchanged.” The British readout makes no mention of this, however. Is there a significance to the discrepancy?
