UK, Japan Announce Tech Partnership Aimed at Security, Jobs

The leaders of the UK and Japan have announced a tech partnership designed to boost national security and create jobs.

I'm delighted that we're building stronger cooperation, a new era of cooperation, between our two countries. And an absolute commitment to deepening our partnership on a number of different levels.

Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae met British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London on Sunday. The two leaders said they will work more closely on advanced technologies, green energy and defense.
They also reaffirmed support for the Global Combat Air Program — a joint fighter jet project involving Japan, the UK and Italy.
Speaking to a business roundtable, they also announced a new technology partnership, expected to generate over $24 billion US dollars in investment.
