1.8 Million People Evacuated in China as Typhoon Bavi Makes Landfall
After sweeping past Taiwan and Japan’s southern Sakishima island chain, Typhoon Bavi has made landfall China's Zhejiang Province and is now heading toward the eastern city of Wenzhou. More than 1.8 million people have been evacuated.

More than 1.8 million people have been evacuated as Typhoon Bavi hits the country.
After passing Taiwan and Japan's southern Sakishima island chain, the storm has made landfall in Zhejiang province. It’s heading toward the eastern city of Wenzhou. Emergency workers helped residents board buses to shelters, while officials cleared debris from roads. Hundreds of flights have been canceled and rail services reduced.
