NYT: China Tests Civilian Fishing Boats in Maritime Military Operations
The New York Times reports that on two occasions in December and January, thousands of Chinese fishing boats grouped together in the East China Sea. Analysts say the unusual formation could be a test of using civilian vessels in coordinated military efforts. While it may not be enough to form a blockade, their presence could disrupt American military operations.
