China Reportedly Asks Companies To Pause Nvidia H200 Chip Orders
China has reportedly asked some of its tech companies to pause orders of Nvidia’s H200 chips as it prepares to mandate domestic chip purchases. Beijing's guidance comes amid Washington’s reversal of a ban on shipping advanced AI chips to China. It’s part of the Chinese government’s efforts to reduce reliance on US-designed chips.
